Holiday Wish Trees

Every year during the holiday season, the Collingswood Junior Women's Club sets up "Wish Tree" donation spots at local banks, encouraging citizens to donate gifts for families in need. All donations are wrapped by either the donor, or Club members, and donated to various shelters and organizations dedicated to helping New Jersey's abused and neglected children, and the familes who provide their care.

To everyone who donated, we, and the families whose holiday season you made a bit brighter, thank you.

Dress for Success Suit Drive

This summer, the Junior's partnered with Dress for Success, an organization whose mission is to help "promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life."

The Collingswood Junior Women's Club assisted Dress for Success by setting up a collection area at Brad's Toy Room in town, where local citizens could drop off gently used (or new!) suits, casual pants and skirts, business button down and casual shirts, shoes, handbags, and jewelry accessories for donation to Dress for Success.

A big Thank you to everyone who donated. Know that you've made a difference in someone's life.

Christmas in July

In July, the Junior's particpated in a Christmas in July celebration by collecting summer items such as sunscreen, bug repellant, sunglasses for teenagers/young adults, and card games to benefit The Valerie Funds Summer Camp "Camp Happy Time". Camp Happy Time is a free one-week overnight camp experience for children aged 5-21 who have or have had cancer or blood disorders.

Thank you to everyone who donated! You helped make this year's camp a success!

This year's convention was a very successful and special one for the Collingswood Junior's. In total the Collingswood Juniors won seven awards in the 11-19 club members category! Including:

In addition, Club President Alyce Taylor was also presentd with The Honor Roll award. The Honor Roll remains the highest honor a clubwoman can receive, and is presented in recognition of a clubwoman's ongoing efforts to support the club in its mission. Club President Alyce Taylor exemplifies what it means to be a Junior by always being involved, available, and most importantly, a good friend. The Collingswood Junior's thank you, Alyce, for all that you do for us, the club, and the community.

Garden District Conference 2011

This year's annual Garden District Conference theme was Garden Glam! Collingswood Junior's who attended took the oppoturnity to get dressed in their best, and spent an evening catching up with each other, and other members of the Garden District at the Haddon Fortnightly (home of the Haddonfield Junior Women's Club).

During this year's District Conference, club member Jodie Farrow was nominated for the Junior Fever award. A new club member in 2010, Jodie was chosen by the Collingswood Club as the recipent of the Junior Fever award for her cheerful and enthusiastic support of the club and it's activites. From the moment she joined Juniors, Jodie has been involved in every aspect of the club, and has always demonstrated a willingness to help out where she could. Thank you for all that you do, Jodie!

In addition, Collingswood Juniors presented club member, Donna Shourds, with an honorary "Best Dressed" award for showing her spirit in her Audrey Hepburn inspired "glam" attire.
